Not an anti gun question, but seriously… Many of us look at our safes then think about just oooooooone more we wish we could have. Once we get it, there’s still ooooooone more, and on and on. If money was no object, I bet a lot of us would like to get a ton more stuff. Even I thought I was done with my collection 4 years ago, then decided to get a couple more things. $15K later, there’s still stuff I want.

Is this (or stamp collecting, bottlecap collecting, whatever…) a mental issue?
Man… It all started with a Glock 22. Well the Sig is an awesome gun, gotta get one of those… Now for a rifle… Need one in 5.56 cause that’s a NATO round, but need a stronger one for deer so have to get a .308. The M1A is nice, but pricey, so lemme get a PTR-91 istead. Geez I really want an M1A, might as well get one, and since I have tons of spare AR parts lying around, might as well assemble a new one… Awww shucks, stripped lowers are cheap, lemme get two… Which reminds me, I need a shotty, but can’t decide between the semi or pump… Ah! I’ll buy the Benelli M3! Got it… It’s nice, but I like the 870’s. Only $400, let me get one.

Now, where’s my lithium?

This knife was carried by an Army advance scout in the Phillipines in WW2. I was wondering if it was an individual purchase item, or a “substitute-standard” issue item. I lean towards that theory, as the scabbard and the crossguard are both depot imprinted (stamped) with the soldier’s name and SN.

All I’ve found of it on the net, is a couple of pictures of various models.with a grip arrangement like mine, but with slightly different blades on each of them, and the information that they’ve been covered in in articles in various knife publications I have no access to. I’ve tried asking this question in the military section of answers, without any luck. I thought I’d try again in the hunting section, knowing that a signifigant number of hunters are interested in knives and WW2 collecting.
Any information you can provide would be greatly appreciated!
Perhaps some of you have some of those books? Please look it up somebody!
